interesting
here is a startling fact for you to ponder :
China, a country without trees, is now the largest exporter of wood products in the world.
anyone care to discuss?
btw - the image above is my current "desktop picture". like most of the images on this pathetic little blog thing, it was captured by my phone. click on it to "biggify" it.

so what, bamboo is not a tree, but everything made from bamboo is a wood product ;-))
i can't fully agree China is without trees, cos i've heard there's a special day (this time of the year) everyone plants a tree, it's a kind of tradition.
you are correct to say that china does, in fact, have trees. it was more of statement to say that the trees that they DO have, are of little significance.
the point was brought to my attention, by a man named dr. yang(?), who is an expert on asian business/economy....
b.e.n., i was kidding, sorry ...
oops!!!!!
nobody has ever said that i was smart!
so when you say China doesn't have trees, you were, in fact, lying. (?)
@ the cherryman :
why you gotta be like that?
you are such a turd!!!!
(with corn in it).
miss you.
Is it China or japan that buys trees from countries with surplus (like us) and then stores them in the ocean to use them at their leisure?
sam : i can't seem to recall which country it is that does it. (although i HAVE heard the statistic in a lecture or two....)
but i know that it is DEFINITELY on of those sneaky countries.
