how i stay alert

work was a little more boring than usual today. so i decided to fool around with the camera built in to the computer, and see what kind of cool stuff i could do. you get to see me at my most bored. and a couple of times you can see me get incredibly sleepy, and there are a couple of times you can see me giggling. one of them is because i was flicking little balls of tape at my friend marta, through a little opening, (really not funny unless you are tired, like i was). i am pretty impressed with the results. let me know what YOU think! edit : i just noticed, while showing a friend the results of my "time-lapse" movie, that there is a spelling mistake. i wrote "py attention", instead of "pay attention", and it is driving me crazy that i know it is there!!!! edit 2 : i fixed the video ending, for the whiny complainers, (looking at you, dickcherry), that couldn't figure out that the video had ended when it went to black, but music kept playing. but i couldn't be bothered to fix the spelling mistake. it meant i had to re-edit the whole movie. and really couldn't be arsed, since it is just a cheesy video anyway!

Very well done! My question is ... how much work did you actually manage to get done during those 2 hours? :-) What with stickers apparently magically appearing and disappearing from the walls, moving bottles, rotating cups etc. - either there was a very busy poltergeist at work or you were busily devising the next animation sequence! Oh ... nice choice of music to go with it by the way.

thanks, honker!

to answer your question about how much work i managed to get done, i actually got PLENTY done, thankyouverymuch. the headphones that were on, monitored a series of microphones placed throughout the room, and i was recording the meeting. but the workload was much lighter than normal, leaving me to be very bored while working.

i have already got some ideas for another video, and i have also been doing some neat things on my iPod, which i am still trying to figure out how to show you guys online.....

man, i love technology!

I think the next logical step from this video would be to buy some plasticine and make the next Wallace & Gromit film! The only downer is that it might take you a little more than 2 hours to make.

I have a camera on my computer but I wouldn't have the first clue about how to make a video like this - keep up the technology tinkering, I look forward to seeing the next project when it comes to fruition.

clearly you have too much time on your hands, priyatel.

i gotta get a web cam, obviously. what software was involved in this latest venture?

lastly, gotta say this: a video of YOURSELF? now that's the last thing i would've expected on your blog.

oh and yeah, the last half of the video consists of inky blackness. am i supposed to hang around and dig Beck, or what?

honker : thanks, man. i will keep messing around with stuff and seeing what i can come up with!

dickcherry : how dare you use "vulgarian" on me! but the software i used was a bit of open source coding. an application known as gawker. quite intuitive to use. not available for PC, though....

didn't have time to edit the video properly, since i just used a quick consumer application to add titles, but i will probably edit out the unnecessary audio at the end, tomorrow. even though people will have stopped caring.

and finally, to address the narcissism comment - at least i don't need 3 profiles to accommodate MY ego!! ;)

To answer what I think. Good job /no kidding/!

Didn't imagine that boredom can be so inspiring :) When I'm bored at work I usually tidy my desk, though i love the messy way it looks /however, my boss doesn't/.

Btw, forgive my poor English. It is a result of my "vulgarian" roots...Ces't la vie :)
